Electricity usage transparency: View detailed electricity usage data anytime, anywhere via a mobile app.

Question 10

What are the common causes of network configuration failure?

Accepted Answer

Please check the following points:
WiFi frequency: Device supports 2.4GHz WiFi. (5GHz is not supported.)
WiFi password: Password should be correct.
WiFi signal : Signal should be strong.
WiFi name (SSID) : Special characters is not supported.

Question 11

Why is the real-time power showing as 0 in the App?

Accepted Answer

This may be due to the following reasons:
Current consumption is extremely low;
A brief delay in reporting meter data;
A very small number of meter protocols do not support real-time power output.

Question 12

Why is there no historical consumption data?

Accepted Answer

P1 Meter Reader can only read the real-time data of the meter and the meter itself does not store historical data.
The APP will start to record these readings from the time you install the device and automatically generates daily consumption curves. Therefore, historical data from before installation cannot be displayed.

Question 13

What should I do if the blue light is on but the green light is off?

Accepted Answer

This indicates that the device has successfully connected to the server, but has not received any valid data. Please follow these steps to troubleshoot:
1. Please check if the P1 port on the meter is properly connected with the device ;
2. Check if the meter is outputting data;
3. The communication protocol used by the meter is beyond the compatibility range of the device ;
4. The meter's communication parameters do not match the device's current configuration. Please contact after-sales service to adjust the communication parameters remotely.

Question 14

What improper installation methods can cause the device to malfunction?

Accepted Answer

Device malfunction is usually due to common oversights during installation. Please refer to the following checklist to ensure your installation steps are correct:
1. Interface error: The device was mistakenly plugged into a port on the meter that has a similar shape with P1 port, such as a telephone port or a port dedicated to inverters/energy storage devices;
2. Poor physical connection: The connector is not fully inserted into the corresponding interface of the meter;
3. Power error: The external power supply is abnormal due to the use of a fast charging adapter;
4. Incorrect operating sequence: Plugging and unplugging with power. When an external power supply is required, please make sure plug in the power meter into port P1 first, then turn on the power supply.
5. Network environment issues: weak WiFi signal, etc.

Question 15

What should I do if all the indicators are OFF?

Accepted Answer

Device has no power supply.
If your device requires an external power source, please check that the power adapter is plugged in.
If your device is powered by a DSMR5.0 meter, please check if the P1 port connection is normal.

Question 16

What are the reasons for device offline or configuration saving failure?

Accepted Answer

This is mostly due to weak WiFi signal or unstable router environment.

Question 17

What information do I need to provide when contacting customer service?

Accepted Answer

Providing the following information can help us quickly locate the problem:
Device SN (starting with D850)
Meter photo
P1 interface photo
Device connection photo
Device indicator light status photo/video
APP screenshot

Question 18

During network configuration, why do both the blue and green LEDs remainON?

Accepted Answer

Both LEDs staying on usually indicates insufficient power supply, preventing
the device from functioning properly.

Question 19

How can I determine if my meter is compatible?

Accepted Answer

There are two ways to determine:
Method 1: Check if the meter has a "P1/RJ12" interface.
Method 2: Check the table below: https://www.solarmanpv.com/is-my-smart-meter-compatible

Question 20

What are the requirements of the meter for P1 Meter Reader (P1-2W)?

Accepted Answer

The protocol of meter will affect the power supply method of P1 Meter Reader:
DSMR5.0 meter: powered directly through the meter, no external power source required.
Other types of meters require an external 5V 1A Type-C power supply.

Question 21

When connecting, is it necessary to "plug in the meter first and then turn on the power"?

Accepted Answer

This order applies only to devices that require an external power supply.
DSMR5.0 meter: Since the P1 port has its own power supply, no necessity to follow the order.
Other types of meters require to always follow the rule of "plug in the power meter into port P1 first, then turn on the power supply" to prevent damage to the equipment.

Question 22

What are the specifications for the external power supply?

Accepted Answer

It is recommended to use a 5V 1A standard power adapter (P1 Meter Reader power consumption is about 1.1C1.2W). Do not use 9V/12V fast charging adapter,
otherwise it may damage the device.

Question 23

Where is the P1 interface on the meter?
